4 Camera Broadcast Package Hire | Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 Glasgow & UK

Two Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras with studio monitors at a live event

A scalable broadcast camera system for live events, event IMAG, streaming and sports production, available as individual camera channels up to a complete four-camera setup.

Up to four matched Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 camera channels are available, each configured with a Fujinon 30x 4K broadcast lens, studio monitor and fibre connectivity. Camera channels can be hired individually or combined as required, with an ATEM Camera Control Panel available for remote camera shading.

Designed as a proper multicamera system rather than a collection of individual camera kits, it provides the reach, control and flexibility needed for live production across conference venues, theatres, arenas and sports environments.

Based in Glasgow, the package is available for dry hire across Scotland and the UK. Each camera channel includes:

  • 1x Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 camera

  • 1x Fujinon LA30x7.8 4K lens

  • 1x Studio Monitor with Tally

  • 2x Blackmagic 2110 Mini BiDirect SFP

  • Zoom and focus demand

Broadcast Cameras for Live Events and IMAG

The right lens and camera workflow can make a significant difference. The Fujinon 30x 4K lenses give each camera enough reach to cover stages and presentations from sensible camera positions around a venue, while the URSA Broadcast G2 provides a familiar B4 broadcast camera setup for operators.

Each camera channel is supplied with a Fujinon 30x 4K lens, studio monitor and fibre converter, with up to four matched channels available.

For event IMAG and large-screen presentation, the system works particularly well where cameras need to cover everything from wide stage shots to tight presenter and speaker shots without being placed immediately beside the stage. The system is equally suited to live streaming, hybrid events, concerts, awards shows and other multicamera productions where consistent pictures across multiple cameras are important

Remote Camera Shading and Control

Up to four cameras can be remotely shaded from the production position using the Blackmagic ATEM Camera Control Panel.

This gives a technician or vision engineer direct control over the cameras during the production, allowing exposure, colour balance and other picture settings to be adjusted as lighting conditions change. The result is quality and workflow much closer to a conventional broadcast camera chain while retaining the relatively compact footprint of the URSA Broadcast system.

Longer Broadcast Lenses for Arenas and Sport

The URSA Broadcast G2 uses a standard B4 lens mount, so the cameras are not limited to the supplied 30x lenses.

For larger venues, arena productions and sports coverage, cameras can also be configured with longer broadcast lenses such as the Canon HJ40 or full-size Canon UJ111 box lens. This allows the same camera system to scale from conference and corporate event production through to long-lens positions at larger live events and sporting venues.

Fibre Connectivity for Larger Venues

Camera channels can be connected over fibre, making the system particularly well suited to larger venues, arenas and event spaces where camera positions may be hundreds of metres from production control. The fibre system can transport camera feeds, return video, tally and camera control data between production and remote camera positions, significantly simplifying long cable runs around a venue.

This provides the flexibility to position cameras where they are needed while retaining full return monitoring, tally and remote camera shading over a single cable.

ATEM Constellation Integration

The camera package can be hired independently or supplied alongside Blackmagic ATEM Constellation vision mixers where required.

The URSA Broadcast G2 cameras integrate directly with the ATEM ecosystem for camera control, tally and return feeds, making them a particularly good fit for complete Blackmagic live production workflows.

An ATEM switcher is not required as part of the hire, however, and the cameras can be supplied as a standalone four-camera package for integration into an existing production system.
