Ray Bradshaw: Bald Ginger

I’m delighted to see that Ray Bradshaw’s comedy special, ‘Bald Ginger’, that I filmed last year with Director Zak Harney has been broadcast by the BBC, and is available to stream on demand on BBC iPlayer.

Filmed in front of a sold-out audience at the world-renowned Stand Comedy Clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Ray tells laugh-out-loud stories of the bizarre situations he gets into while trying to find as many people who look like him.

Trainline Business

Corporate case study videos have a habit of looking and sounding the same. Working with Trainline Business, the aim was to avoid that by keeping things grounded, visual, and focused on the customer rather than polished talking heads.

We designed the project around a central hero film, with a clear plan from the start to pull out short, punchy cutdowns for social media. That meant thinking about pacing, framing, and moments that would still land in a few seconds, not just in a longer edit. Shooting with that flexibility in mind made it easier to create a suite of content from a single production.

A key part of the shoot took place at London’s King’s Cross station. Filming in a live transport hub forces you to stay agile. You have to adapt quickly, work around crowds, and react to what’s unfolding in front of you. There’s no controlling the environment, which often leads to footage that feels more natural and believable.

By building the story around movement and real usage, the films show how Trainline Business fits into everyday working life. The result is a practical, energetic case study that works both as a main brand piece and as short-form content designed to travel well across social platforms.

BAE Naval Ships Training

Throughout 2024 and 2025, I worked with Todd Communications Consultancy to produce a series of health and safety and internal training films for BAE Systems Naval Ships at the historic shipyards in Govan and Scotstoun on the River Clyde.

The films cover rules, procedures, and best practice across a wide range of shipbuilding activities, from working in confined spaces to hot work, electrical safety, and radiological hazards. They are also used to induct new staff and visitors to the Glasgow sites.

Filming took place in demanding, live industrial environments, including on blocks of partially assembled ships and across busy, operational yards where work continued throughout production. This required careful planning, close coordination with site teams, and a flexible approach to shooting safely and efficiently.

Aerial filming was also used to capture the scale and complexity of the shipyards and the vessels in dry dock, helping to place the training content in context and show the sheer size of the Type 26 builds.

BAE Systems is currently building a number of Type 26 frigates for the Royal Navy, the first of which, HMS Glasgow, was officially launched by the Princess of Wales at a ceremony in May.

Jamie xx - In Waves Tour

80Six, one of the UK’s leading live entertainment video providers, hired the Teradek Ranger MK II for Jamie xx’s In Waves European tour.

Running through March, the tour visited 10 arenas and theatres across Europe, including Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Ranger’s zero-delay 4K wireless video system was used to capture both the stage and the crowd, allowing cameras to move freely and keeping the audience visually embedded in the show.

On a touring production, one of Ranger’s biggest strengths is its RF flexibility. Support for both licensed and unlicensed bands up to 6GHz makes it far easier to adapt day to day when moving between venues and countries, each with their own RF environments and licensing rules.

The option to work in the 6GHz (U-NII-5) range was particularly valuable in busy arenas where 5GHz can be heavily congested, opening up cleaner channels and simplifying coordination alongside other wireless systems on the show.

DAZN - Europa League

Behind the scenes: Working with DAZN Germany this week, providing the Sony FX9 with interview lighting and audio kit, capturing pre-match interviews with Manager, Vincent Kompany, and Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for their coverage of the Europe League fixture between Celtic and Bayern Munich.

Paris 2024 Paralympics

That’s a wrap from La Défense Arena in Paris, home of the Para Swimming competition for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Working with Timeline Television, and Whisper Productions I was based at La Défense for two weeks, where we delivered live daily coverage of the Games from the Channel 4 studio, presented by Clare Balding, Rose-Ayling-Ellis and former Team GB Paralympian,, Ellie Simmonds.

Our first broadcast made history as Rose Ayling-Ellis became the first deaf person to present live sports coverage on TV with the assistance of her team of interpreters.

A 200 strong team from Timeline, Whisper and Channel 4 produced extensive coverage of the Paralympics, with more than 1,300 hours of live sport airing for free across Channel 4, More4, Channel 4 Streaming and Channel 4 Sport’s YouTube.

Tiree Music Festival 2024

I returned to the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides this summer for the fourth year running to cover Tiree Music Festival with Well Good Media.

Held every July, Tiree Music Festival is an award-winning folk and contemporary music event set against the island’s white-sand beaches. The festival brings together Scottish and international artists and captures the relaxed, welcoming spirit of island life.

Over four days we produced a large volume of content, from live multi-camera recordings on the main stage to intimate acoustic sessions across the island, alongside behind-the-scenes coverage. All of this was published on the Tiree Music Festival TV platform.

Daily highlight films and a full weekend highlights films were edited on site by our small but incredibly hard-working team for social media.

BBC Great British Menu

In Autumn 2022 I worked with Optompen Television as a Shooting PD on VT’s for Series 19 of the BBC Two professional cooking competition, Great British Menu.

Hosted by award-winning TV Chef and Broadcaster, Andi Oliver, Great British Menu sees top chefs from across the UK put their hearts on a plate and showcase amazing culinary talent.

I produced, directed and shot a number of packages for Optomen, introducing chefs representing Scotland and the inspiration for some of the dishes on their banquet menus. Travelling all over Scotland, this includes Ajay Kumar, Chef Owner of Swadish in Glasgow; Calum Montgomery, Chef Patron of Edinbane Lodge on the Isle of Skye; Kevin Dalgleish, Chef Patron of Amuse in Aberdeen; and David Millar, Head Chef at Jupiter Artland near Edinburgh.

BBC Ultimate Wedding Planner

Behind the scenes: Late last year I had the pleasure of shooting with a great team from BBC Studios producing the new BBC Two competition show, ‘Ultimate Wedding Planner’.

From their Glasgow HQ, the show sees eight aspiring wedding planners battle it out to transform six real couples’ weddings in just three days, under the watchful eye of judges Fred Sirieix, Sara Davies and Raj Somaiya.

UCI Esports World Championships 2023

Behind the scenes: I recently provided camera systems for the UCI Esports World Championships 2023 being held in Glasgow, broadcast live on Eurosport, for Cameron.

Hosted at The Engine Works, the event saw athletes compete on the Zwift virtual cycling platform with users from around the world in front of a live studio audience.

Using the Boxx Meridian with the Sony PMW-400, as well as supplying a wireless comms solution, I was able to assist in capturing the event for UCI and Visit Scotland as well as supplying camera relays for the venue.

The Mourning of Queen Elizabeth II

I was commissioned by Getty Images to capture a moment in history as the nation mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh, the Queen’s official residence in Scotland, and the Scottish Parliament.
