Working with NatWest Business and Team GB late last year was one of those shoots that perfectly summed up how important preparation can be on a fast-moving production.
The project centred around the NatWest Accelerator App and wider Accelerator programme, designed to support growing businesses with mentoring, coaching and practical tools to help them develop. For this campaign, the goal was to create a range of social content and stills with Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock in a very small amount of time.
And when I say small amount of time, I mean it.
We had limited access to a busy public venue, a tight production schedule, and only a short window with Max himself to capture multiple pieces of content. Everything needed to move quickly and smoothly from the moment cameras were up.
What really made the shoot work was preparation and having a small team that could move fast without overcomplicating things. Everyone knew exactly what we needed before arriving on site, which meant we could focus on delivering rather than figuring things out on the day.
Shoots like this are a good reminder that smaller crews can often work incredibly well when everyone is prepared and trusts each other’s role. Tight schedules are always challenging, but with the right planning beforehand, they can also bring out the best kind of focus on set.
A really enjoyable project to be part of, and great to work alongside the teams at NatWest Business, Team GB and Max Whitlock.
