I am delighted to announce that my documentary, 'Fought by Weapons, Won by Men' was yesterday awarded 'Best Documentary' at the Film the House Awards Ceremony at the Houses of Parliament, where the film was screened.
The documentary, which examines the vital work of Scottish charity Poppyscotland was nominated by my local MP Jo Swinson, who collected the award on my behalf at Parliament as I was unable to attend the ceremony.
The award is testament to the crucial role that Poppyscotland play in supporting our veterans and their families, and all the great work they do.Commending, Jo said:
What a truly amazing result. I am so proud of Scott. With Remembrance Sunday coming up Fought by Weapons, Won by Men is a timely reminder of how PoppyScotland supports those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
The award comes as Poppyscotland launched their 2012 Poppy Appeal in Glasgow with the help of Susan Boyle and the Military Wives Choir.
