Famous Grouse - Famous for a reason

I was recently commissioned by The BIG Partnership to produce a series of films for The Famous Grouse as they commenced a new marketing campaign, ‘Famous For a Reason’. The Famous Grouse is one of Scotland’s best selling whiskies, selling over 43 Million bottles in 94 global markets every year.

Global Brand Ambassador Lucy Whitehall told the story of Matthew Gloag, the founder of Famous Grouse. Gloag created ‘The Grouse Brand’ of whisky in 1867. The whisky then went on to be known as The Famous Grouse, and Matthew Gloag’s signature can still be found on each bottle to this day.

Filming took place over a number of days across Scotland, including Scone Palace and the Glenturret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working distillery.

A number of interactive whisky tasting sessions were filmed with Master Blender Gorton Motion in Edrington’s Sample Room. The videos will be used online and on social media, as well as being displayed at exhibitions, tastings and promotional events worldwide.

Vattenfall Clashindarroch Windfarm

I was commissioned by The BIG Partnership to produce a series of videos for Swedish energy firm Vattenfall promoting the opening of a new wind farm in near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.

Filming for two days in Edinburgh and on location at the Clashindarroch Wind Farm, videos were produced for social media and internal communications for Vattenfall staff in the UK and Europe. A number of Vine’s were also produced and delivered to the client for use on social media within hours of the official opening.

Scottish Open 2015

I spent a few days in Gullane, East Lothian, this week covering the 2015 Scottish Open golf tournament for a range of international broadcasters.

Working for Mallard Productions I used the PMW-400 covering press conferences and capturing some of the top names in golf on the practice range and playing the Pro-Am competition. Players at the tournament included Justin RosePhil Mickelson and Colin Montgomerie.

Footage was edited on site and immediately delivered to the client to be distributed to broadcasters worldwide.

Clydesdale Bank – UK’s First Polymer Banknote

I produced this video for Clydesdale Bank to promote the release of the UK’s first polymer banknote. The new polymer notes are more secure, more durable and cleaner than paper notes.

Working with The BIG Partnership, students of Bearsden Academy’s Young Engineer and Science Club were filmed putting the new polymer note through its paces with a number of experiments testing the note’s durability.

Footage – including interviews with the Acting CEO of Clydesdale Bank, Debbie Crosbie, and Science Club Ambassador, Heather Reid OBE – was distributed to broadcasters throughout the UK. The video was published online and will be displayed in Clydesdale Bank branches across Scotland.

Noel Gallagher at HMV Glasgow

I was filming for HMV in Glasgow as Noel Gallagher took part in an exclusive in store signing at HMV's Argyle Street before going on to play Glasgow's SSE Hydro.

Former Oasis songwriter and guitarist, Noel is currently touring the UK with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. He met over 250 fans who had travelled from all over the UK signing vinyl and CD copies of his new album, Chasing Yesterday.

Forth Rail Bridge Flypast

Filming from the top of the North Tower of the Forth Rail Bridge during a flypast as part of the bridges 125th Birthday celebrations.The flypast of a Eurofighter Typhoon and a model World War Two Spitfire was filmed on the Sony PMW-400 for distribution online and to local and national broadcasters.

The Project Australia

One day before polls opened, I was filming in Edinburgh for Australian television covering the Scottish Independence Referendum.As well as filming iconic Edinburgh landmarks and capturing the atmosphere and campaigning around the city,

I also filmed a phone interview with 'Yes' supporter and Comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli. The interview was broadcast on Network Ten's prime time talk show and news / current affairs program, The Project.

Independence Referendum Debate

I was recently commissioned to provide multi-camera coverage of and Independence Referendum Debate and Q&A session at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. P

anelists included academics as well as George Galloway MP and Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander MP.Just days before the referendum, speeches and the Q&A were edited and posted online overnight and were available to the public by the next morning.

Post Office #LoveSundays

I recently worked with London-based PR company Speed Communications, filming a promotional video for the Post Office in Edinburgh.

The Post Office are promoting their extended Sunday opening hours at branches throughout the country with their #LoveSundays campaign, and asked buskers across the UK to perform Lionel Ritchie's 'Easy (Like Sunday Morning)'.

The Clutha Appeal: Won't Forget

'Won't Forget', the charity single in aid of the Clutha Appeal Fund, has been released alongside the music video which I was involved in filming for just last week.

The single was written and released by four serving Glasgow police officers who enlisted the help of Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall to provide vocals for the track.PC Paul Keenan and three colleagues recorded the single in order to raise money for the fund that was set up for the victims and relatives of those affected by the helicopter crash.
